Photographic Commerce

So it’s the beginning of the new year and we want to start it off by wishing everyone a healthy, happy and prosperous 2011! It’s always great to begin fresh and kick off bad photography habits like a pair of old stilettos.

Fashion photography is an increasingly competitive field but a career can be made by finding the right combination of images, persistence, knowing the ins and outs of the industry, and making contacts that count.

One tip toward this is to get someone who is in the “know” – not just a friend or family member – to help you evaluate your portfolio. The is just one step on the road but plays a key role. If you are an emerging photographer and don’t know anyone in the industry yet (a fashion art director, fashion magazine photo editor, etc.) we have reviewed hundreds of portfolios for our Paris and Los Angeles fashion photo workshops and mentorships, and are seasoned professionals at the highest levels of fashion editorial and advertising.
